Make the most of our database
A bit of information about V-base and how it works;
V-base is a database holding volunteering opportunities and contact data. This allows potential volunteers to search and browse volunteering options. The database is compiled and maintained by Volunteer Centre staff and registration is free. Volunteering opportunities registered on V-base are also posted online nationally at www.do-it.org.uk
How to give your volunteering opportunities maximum impact;
The database is only as accurate as the information entered.
Please let us know:
-
if there are any changes to your contact details
-
if specific volunteering roles have been filled
-
if there are any new volunteering opportunities
Organisations can also have the details of their opportunities temporarily “hidden” on the database if, for example, they are currently filled.
Database entries are also time-specific and when expired will need to be renewed by organisations. In practice, the Volunteer Centre staff would normally contact organisations to review the entries and make any necessary changes but it is good idea to keep in regular touch with your Volunteer Centre about the opportunities available.
The information on the database can be widely accessed by potential volunteers so it is very important for organisations to present their volunteering opportunities; -
accurately
-
briefly
-
– most importantly – in an appealing and attractive way.
